MovieTime: Three Idiots

Friday night and my hubby and I are looking for a movie to watch. Friday gimmicks became impossible since we discovered about my delicate condition, especially now that I’m on my 6th month. Times are getting harder. My back ache is starting to get my attention. I’m still anemic, constipated, weight-conscious and managing (sorry for being gross!) hemorrhoids. Going out is something I’d rather save for a special occasion or person/people.

It’s equally hard to choose a movie nowadays. I have always been picky but now, I’m more than choosy as ever. I’ve developed a strong dislike for corny ones and dramatic themes. It’s either action, a horror without stuff like gremlins, a non-boring sci-fiction or a good comedy, all with great looking actors. Then he suggested watching “Three Idiots” something out of his borrowed DVDs. I was hesitant to watch it at first because it’s a Bollywood film. But we checked IMDB and the rating is very good, so we decided to give it a shot, intending to watch just a few scenes.
The planned few scenes turned into a full-length 170 min. movie! We did not regret watching the film. I got what I wanted for that night. Click the here for the trailer!
Three Idiots is a story of 3 college friends who will learn important life lessons. It’s a great story about friendship and life in general. One can get just too much of inspiring if not funny lines from the movie. The title may not be catchy and interesting but the movie was not boring considering it’s longer than usual run time. The song and dance numbers were not corny. It actually had a pretty good soundtrack. I was able to relate to a lot of scenes and I’m sure you will too. Characters are funny and the actors are not bad at all. I must give it to the director for being able to keep me glued to the movie and to the writers who was able to simplify the life lessons the movie wants to share with its audience. Three Idiots is basically a movie for everyone but I highly recommend it for the youth who needs clarity and wisdom at pressing times.
I wanna share with you some of my favorite lines/lessons from Three Idiots:
1.) Strange buddies, first teach you to upright then offer you a path to shame.
2.) This isn’t suicide, it’s murder.
3.) I don’t blame you, I blame the system.
4.) If MJ’s dad forced him to be a boxer and Mohammad’s dad forced him to be a singer, imagine the disaster?
5.) For once, dump your fears or someday on your deathbed, you’ll regret it. With just a little courage you could’ve turned your life around.
6.) 16 broken bones gave me 2 months to think and reflect.
7.) It took 2 broken legs to get me up on my feet, you keep your job I’ll keep my attitude.
8.) Most of us went to college just for a degree. No degree meant no plum job, no pretty wife, no credit card, no social status. But none of this mattered to him, he was in college for the joy of learning, he never cared if he was first or last.
9.) When your friend flunks, you feel bad, when he tops, you feel worse.
10.) Pursue excellence and success shall follow you.
And of course, the too common but nonetheless most uplifting line: ALL IS WELL!
A happy Monday to all. I hope everyone was able to survive the bad weather last weekend.
All is well!
